i think its funny, but some of my friends don’t whats your opinion?

I think it’s funny, but my wife hates it.

"Comedy shows" like South Park, Family Guy, Futurama that Americans think are funny are nothing but vile crap. It is so ridiculous that it makes me want to cry more than laugh. It’s only good for cheap laughs, not really funny and it truly represents how immature Americans are. Even shows like the "Colbert Report", "Jon Stewart Show" are not really that funny, but at least they’re not vile crap and are funny. The only show that is funny in my opinion is the "Craig Ferguson Show".

We Americans are made up of a pot load of different people, with different tastes and different senses of humor. It’s not rocket science. Just think how boring the world would be if we all thought the same way and like the same things.

I enjoy Craig Ferguson. But I also like South Park, The Daily Show with Jon Stewart and The Colbert Report. The Family Guy just doesn’t do it for me.

Family Guy was probably the best show on television from seasons 2-6 (2 being the best). The new season 7 and 8 have been just awful. I feel like Seth MacFarlane has stopped trying or there are different writers. It seems like there is almost no plot now, they have recycled old jokes to make them less funny, and every character has gotten increasingly stupider in a bad way (especially Peter). I miss season 2 where I thought there was the most memorable quotes from but the great thing is even after 2 it stayed funny until now. Who agrees with me, and who knows what happened?

The show has definately gone down hill. The humor is getting lower and lower brow and it is not funny. The show is also relying too heavily on sit gags like blood and vomit (borning). Family Guy used to be a great show with great humor that was smart and political without being so in your face. I don’t know what is going on with the show but they need to get the old writers back!

Sometimes I notice that some of the styles of comedy, and the jokes seem directly lifted from The Simpsons.

That is why The Simpsons will ALWAYS be so much better!

Sam catches up with the vlog people after a run of First Wives Club vlogs, and starting to recover from knee surgery.

Sam is currently traveling back and forth to Broadway as part of the redevelopment of the Al Jolson musical project, which is expected to be called “Jolie”.

Al Jolson (May 26, 1886 October 23, 1950) was an American singer, comedian, and actor. According to PBS, he is considered the “first openly Jewish man to become an entertainment star in America”.[1] His career lasted from 1911 until his death in 1950, during which time he was commonly dubbed “the world’s greatest entertainer.

His performing style was brash and extroverted, and he popularized a large number of songs that benefited from his “shamelessly sentimental, melodramatic approach”.[2] Numerous well-known singers were influenced by his music, including Bing Crosby, Judy Garland, and Bob Dylan, who once referred to him as “somebody whose life I can feel”.[3]

In the 1930s he was America’s most famous and highest paid entertainer.[4] Between 1911 and 1928, Jolson had nine sell-out Winter Garden shows in a row, more than 80 hit records, and 16 national and international tours. Yet he’s best remembered today for his leading role in the first (full length) talking movie ever made, The Jazz Singer, released in 1927. He starred in a series of successful musical films throughout the 1930s. After a period of inactivity, his stardom returned with the 1946 Oscar-winning biographical film, The Jolson Story. Larry Parks played Jolson with the songs dubbed in with Jolsons real voice. A sequel, Jolson Sings Again, was released in 1949, and was nominated for three Oscars. After the attack on Pearl Harbor, Jolson became the first star to entertain troops overseas during World War II, and again in 1950 became the first star to perform for GIs in Korea, doing 42 shows in 16 days.

According to the St. James Encyclopedia of Popular Culture, “Jolson was to jazz, blues, and ragtime what Elvis Presley was to rock ‘n’ roll”. Being the first popular singer to make a spectacular “event” out of singing a song, he became a rock star before the dawn of rock music. His specialty was building stage runways extending out into the audience. He would run up and down the runway and across the stage, “teasing, cajoling, and thrilling the audience”, often stopping to sing to individual members, all the while the “perspiration would be pouring from his face, and the entire audience would get caught up in the ecstasy of his performance”.

He enjoyed performing in blackface makeup a theatrical convention in the early 20th century. With his unique and dynamic style of singing black music, like jazz and blues, he was later credited with single-handedly introducing African-American music to white audiences. As early as 1911 he became known for fighting against anti-black discrimination on Broadway. Jolson’s well-known theatrics and his promotion of equality on Broadway helped pave the way for many black performers, playwrights, and songwriters, including Cab Calloway, Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington, Fats Waller, and Ethel Waters.

Al Jolson was born as Asa Yoelson in Seredžius, Lithuania, then a part of the Russian Empire, the fourth child of Moses Reuben Yoelson and his wife Naomi. His siblings were Rose, Etta, Hirsch (Harry), and a sister who died in infancy. Moses Yoelson moved to the United States in 1891, and was able to find a job as a rabbi and cantor at the Talmud Torah Synagogue in the Southwest Waterfront neighborhood of Washington, D.C. Three years later, his family would join him.

I asked this question in comedy but only got 2 responses. since R&S seems to be very active I thought I’d ask it here, spiritually speaking of course.

He just creeps me out. And he almost ruined peter and the wolf for me, I loved that when I was little and I almost died when I heard him whistle it. And when he sang the song where he and Chris were married that was the most disturbing thing I’ve ever seen, besides a multitude of internet shock sites of course.
Oh and yes I am desensitized to internet shock sites, I can even eat while watching 2 girls 1 cup now, but herbert still creeps me out
Lol at all you who say Herbert pokes fun at social anxiety. If it were a more clever show, perhaps that would be true but, common, this is Family Guy we’re talking about here.

Family Guy as a whole is not funny.
